ABOUT ME

Zak Herman is a technology focused real estate broker in the Chicago area. He is passionate about implementing the latest systems and tools available in order to deliver a competitive advantage to his clients.

He has a background in real estate finance, purchasing his first investment property while in college, and prior to real estate sales worked in luxury single family home development Chicago’s North Shore as well as rehabbing bungalows on Chicago’s northwest and south sides. His well rounded experience allows him to provide the wide range of advice and solutions necessary in order to successfully negotiate the complexities involved in real estate transactions.

His clients benefit from a highly analytical perspective of the local market and ability to translate that into successful arguments, whether it be for buyers or sellers, first time home buyers or seasoned investors.

His engagement with an industry leading marketing firm provides a suite of cutting edge tools and the ability to manage their deployment over various digital mediums, allowing for an aggressive approach when marketing listings. Zak’s use of photo, video, and interactive 3-D tours on listings and knowledge of their benefits on numerous social media and real estate search portals allows him the ability to precisely target, capture, and re-market to prospective buyers with an extreme degree of control and efficacy. He combines this with systems emphasizing customer service, communication, and speed to deliver a streamlined approach to the modern buying and selling process.

In 2022, Zak formed The Polestar Group, a team of agents driven by utilizing technology to provide a superior buying and selling experience. The Polestar Group is a division of eXp Realty, a publicly traded cloud-based real estate brokerage at the forefront of real estate innovation with an international presence and over 85,000 agents. This provides The Polestar Group and its clients a vast network of resources at their disposal.

In 2011 he appeared on HGTV’s House Hunters and has been featured in numerous Chicago Sun Times articles regarding his experience rehabbing Chicago bungalows. He currently lives in West Town with his husband and dog, Fritz, and enjoys Chicago’s vibrant restaurant scene and Crossfit.
